Youbisheng Green Paper AG: Revenue growth exceeds 20%

Munich, 4 April 2012. Youbisheng Green Paper AG, the German holding company of a Chinese manufacturer of environmentally friendly linerboard for the growing Chinese consumer goods industry, has achieved strong growth in 2011. According to preliminary figures, revenues increased by 22% from EUR 75.5 million to EUR 92.2 million. EBIT was up by 16% to EUR 20.5 million in 2011. This represents an EBIT margin of 22%. Adjusted for the one-off IPO expenses (EUR 0.9 million) the EBIT margin was 23.2%.

These financials are well above the outlook communicated during the IPO in July 2011: The management had expected sales of EUR 78 million and an EBIT of approx. EUR 18 million. Based on the strong results of the first nine months of 2011, Youbisheng had significantly raised full year guidance to revenues of more than EUR 94 million and an EBIT margin above 23.5%. The financial results 2011 are just slightly below the ambitious updated outlook. Some packaging clients decided to close production for a longer period than usual during Chinese New Year. This led to a postponement of orders into the first quarter of 2012. Also, due to the strong sales increase and limited production capacities, Youbisheng had to subcontract more of the production volume, leading to slightly lower margins.

The company maintains a strong balance sheet with a group equity of EUR 47.6 million and an equity ratio of 80%. The cash position amounted to EUR 30.9 million as of 31 December 2011 (2010: EUR 9.1 million). This increase is mainly due to the profit generated from operations.

The company is still moving in line with its goal to increase sales in other provinces of China. In 2011, the company has raised its sales to outside Fujian and Quangdong province, selling the products to the provinces Anhui, Sichuan, Zhejiang, Hunan and Hubei. Youbisheng’s innovative high margin products, the double-sided testliner, the new heavy testliner and the new anti-counterfeit testliner, all made of up to 100% recycled paper, will dominate the growth in 2012.

The guidance for 2012 and the complete annual report 2011 of Youbisheng Green Paper AG will be published on 30 April 2012.
